Every time I get the chance to do decorated sugar cookies, I alternately groan in despair and get excited. It's a chance to be creative and to play with icing, but it also feels overwhelming. And despite lots of practice and watching many, many online videos, I don't have the [patience / skill / insert word here] to do the minute detail work that makes so many bakers' cookies absolutely gorgeous. Mine are more in the "cute" realm (and I am ok with that!). But even though I am reluctant whenever I say yes to a job, I'm always glad I did. I can practice matching colors or decorations to a party theme, or being evocative with just a few drops of royal icing, and that is fun.
Here are a few I've done in the not-totally-distant past:
Kary's 50th birthday girls' weekend at the beach
Sharon's 50th birthday (to match her invitation with the colors, crown, and "50" theme)
