My dad turned 80 last month, and so did my best friend's mom, and several other friends' parents, too. I guess 1943 was a big year! Our friends' father, Lyal, also turned 80, and after a short postponement, they hosted a family birthday party for him with decorations in black and gold. Mr. Lyal likes vanilla cake and vanilla frosting, and that is what I made for him. After all, you don't turn 80 every day! I love these gold sequin sprinkles - they look so festive! (And also sort of like lentils. But still festive!)
