Bug Bug's latest whim is that she wants her birthday cake to look like her. (Guessing that means a blue-eyed, curly brown-haired girl.) This from the girl who has asked for a pumpkin (age 2), a purple-all-over butterfly (age 3), and recommended a "circle" cake for her brother's first birthday.
Any ideas for how to make it especially cute? I am not planning on 3D - just a round cake made to look like her face, but I also have not done any research yet.

So I am inspired to try the fondant thing. I will probably play with it tonight, actually :-) But I am still not sure it will work best to illustrate her long curls... I was thinking about chocolate curls, but I don't know how well I can do them or whether they'll stand up weather-wise...
